R. I. P. Rusty Haller

I am saddened by the news of my friend, fellow creator and Comicbook Artists Guild member Rusty Haller who passed away earlier this past week. I didn't know Rusty that long. But it didn't take long to know Rusty, to see that he was a gentle soul with an incredible talent. Like the rest of the comic book world I mourn his passing, but take joy in the knowledge that his beautiful artwork will keep his memory alive for generations to come. - R. I. P. Rusty Haller - You will be missed.

A Day At The ECBACC With Carl Herring Jr. ; Part Two

A day at the ECBACC was turning out to be a truly great day for me. The love and support that the ECBACC fans showed to all the comic book creators was overwhelming. I got to spend time with my friend Prof. William Foster, a comic book historian and author of several books.

I also got a chance to spend time with Jemir Johnson, author of the fine graphic novel 5 shots.

The press was on hand to give creators a chance to talk about their products. Here I am talking to Dr. Truth about Crime Wave Anthology vol 1 featuring CHASE AND HUNT (TM).

A Day At The ECBACC; Part One

The eighth annual East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention held May 16, 2009 has come and gone. The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, PA. An exciting time seemed to be had by all. Fans moved from one vendor to the next, looking over the incredible array of comic books, graphic novels, fine arts and other merchandises that filled the convention hall. Also on hand were workshops, film screenings, and even a martial arts demonstration. The ECBACC had something for everyone.

Carl Herring Jr. To Appear At ECBACC

The East Coast Black Age of Comics Con is being held on May 16, 2009 in Philadelphia, PA. www.ecbacc.com/wordpress . I attended the Con last year as a spectator. I had a great time meeting with some of the artists and was able to find some really cool books. I'm very excited about going this year since I'll be participating in the Con. I'm looking forward to meeting with the ECBACC fans, because they are known for showing a lot of support to the artists and their works.

The ECBACC spotlights black characters in comic books and literature, but the show will appeal to comic book fans of all races. I encourage all those who can attend, come down to the Con.

Three J Productions, LLC gives sneek peek at Crime Wave Anthology vol 1

Three J Productions, LLC won't release Crime Wave Anthology vol 1 until Feb 09, but offers a sneek peek at this exciting new publication at www.comicspace.com/threejproductions . Crime Wave Anthology vol 1 is the company's first full color publication, as well as being the first release of the new year. The comic book features three stories written by company founder and President, Carl Herring Jr. . "Above The Law", the first of three stories, features FBI duo Chase and Hunt as they travel to a small town to clear a friend accused of murder. But the town's sheriff is the only witness. Chase and Hunt return in the second story, "End Game" which pits the two agents against Chase's old enemy, John Terry a.k.a. The Game Master serial killer. Chase is forced to play a very deadly game mastermind by Terry. Chase and the lives of several hostages hang in the balance. In the end, it may be up to Hunt to save the lives of her partner and the hostages. "Safe House" is the third story, and features D.E.A. Enforcers Clayton Jagger and Rio Mendez in their first appearance since the now famous Enforcers Limited Edition Zero Issue. Jagger and Rio must protect a federal witness who has been mark for death. The two Enforcers find themselves in the fight of their lives when the location of their safe house is uncovered by a team of assassins. All of this excitement is avaliable for preview at the company's Comicspace web site.
