Superhero Spotlight: Jonas McCabe Bounty Hunter, Hero, Legend

This month's superhero spotlight is on Jonas McCabe.  Although not a superhero in the traditional sense; Jonas McCabe's adventurous exploits during the post Civil War era as a bounty hunter and US Marshal in the old west are filled with heroic deeds.  To many, Jonas is a hero, to others he is a bounty hunter to be feared, but to all who come to know him, he is a legend.

Jonas McCabe is born to slaves and the lone survivor of what has become known as The Potter's Field Massacre.  As an infant he is rescued by a white man and his Cherokee wife to be raised as their son and as a free man.  He is taught to believe that a man's worth is not determined by the color of his skin, but by his actions and deeds.
Jonas McCabe :  Black male, Age: late 20s, Hair: Black, Eyes: Brown, Height: 6'1, Weight: 225lbs.

Known Affiliations:  United States Calvary Buffalo Soldier Division, Bounty Hunter, and US Marshal by special appointment from President Ulysses S. Grant.

Carl Herring Jr. branches out from Comic book writer to Film Producer

Since the first day that I started Three J Productions, LLC my goal was to take 3JP's collection of comic book characters from the printed page and branch out into the animation and film industry.  My absence from the blog these past few months has been due to my desire to reach this goal.

I've been using my time away from the blog to network with some very talented filmmakers, which has allowed me the opportunity to invest financial and promotional support to several film projects.  These projects are not the property of Three J Productions nor do they feature the company's characters.  But the film projects do represent a move in the direction that I want to take for the company, which is to make it more than just a comic book company, but an entertainment media company that has Intellectual Properties that span all avenues of entertainment distribution, from Film, TV and Web.  My association with the projects and with the filmmakers has taught me some valuable lessons about the film making process.  I am confident that the lessons I've learned and the relationships I've made in the film community will help me reach my ultimate goal.

To learn more about the film projects that I've been attached to as a producer and associate producer you can go to my IMDB page by following the link below.

As always, I thank all of you who have shown your support to Three J Productions, LLC and hope you will continue to support 3JP as the company moves towards bigger and better things in the coming years.  Also, check the blog for future updates about upcoming publications like the Black Tao graphic novel, Chase and Hunt(TM) in an all new adventure and the ongoing exploits of The Enforcers.  Three J Productions, LLC the first name in visual arts entertainment.(TM)   - Carl Herring Jr. President Three J Productions, LLC.

An Evening with Michael Jai White

I recently had the pleasure of attending a fundraising event for The Ralphola Taylor Community Center YMCA.  The event was An Evening with Michael Jai White.  It was great to see the multi-talented actor, writer and director Michael Jai White back in our hometown of Bridgeport, Conn. to help raise money for the local community center where he spent much of his time as a youth.

The evening was filled with music, food and entertainment supplied by the RTCC YMCA Dance Ensemble.  The highlight of the evening was when Michael began sharing stories of how important the Community Center and the staff were in helping to shape him into the man that he is today.  He also stressed the importance of having The Ralphola Taylor Community Center YMCA open to the future youths of Bridgeport.
