Superhero Spotlight: Steven Carter of The Enforcers

This month's superhero spotlight is on Steven Carter of The Federal Enforcers Crime Task Force Unit.  A veteran detective with the N.Y.P.D., Steve's reputation for being a tough, honest cop wins him a place with the Enforcers.  An elite federal crime fighting task force, Enforcers are comprised of the best men and women of various law enforcement and military branches, brought together to be specially trained and equipped to make up small task force units.  Enforcers are placed in major cities throughout the United States and target high profile crime lords and their criminal organizations to take down.  Steven Carter is one of the founding members of the Enforcers.

Steven Carter:  White male, Age: early 30s, Hair: Blonde, Eyes: Blue, Height: 5'10", Weight: 175 lbs.

Known Affiliations:  N.Y.P.D., Federal Enforcers Crime Task Force Unit.

Superhero Spotlight: Jonas McCabe Bounty Hunter, Hero, Legend

This month's superhero spotlight is on Jonas McCabe.  Although not a superhero in the traditional sense; Jonas McCabe's adventurous exploits during the post Civil War era as a bounty hunter and US Marshal in the old west are filled with heroic deeds.  To many, Jonas is a hero, to others he is a bounty hunter to be feared, but to all who come to know him, he is a legend.

Jonas McCabe is born to slaves and the lone survivor of what has become known as The Potter's Field Massacre.  As an infant he is rescued by a white man and his Cherokee wife to be raised as their son and as a free man.  He is taught to believe that a man's worth is not determined by the color of his skin, but by his actions and deeds.
Jonas McCabe :  Black male, Age: late 20s, Hair: Black, Eyes: Brown, Height: 6'1, Weight: 225lbs.

Known Affiliations:  United States Calvary Buffalo Soldier Division, Bounty Hunter, and US Marshal by special appointment from President Ulysses S. Grant.

Carl Herring Jr.'s Comic book creations, Black Tao, Jonas McCabe and Maddox Turner on display at UConn Stamford Campus

In honor of Black History month UConn Stamford Campus will be exhibiting works of art by African American Cartoon and Comic book creators, as well as showcase African American characters from the cartoon and comic book industry.

Among the exhibitors are  Mort Walker featuring Lt. Flap in Beetle Bailey, Ray Billingsley (Curtis), Prof. William Foster III (Comic book Historian) and Carl Herring Jr. featuring Black Tao, Jonas McCabe and Maddox Turner.  Plus the artwork of Tod Smith, Ejay Russell and Ed Coutts will be on display.
